Storage pooling
Storage pooling is the underlying technology behind storage virtualization and storage clusters. Pooling software creates a storage pool across disk systems, treating the capacity on the systems as one virtual storage space. Storage pooling simplifies storage management, and can simplify scaling of RAID and other storage by allowing new hardware to join an existing pool.
