Rack-scale flash storage

Rack-scale flash is a next-generation of all-flash storage that places the flash physically closer to the server to improve the speed of solid-state drives (SSDs). Rack-scale flash usually includes non-volatile memory express (NVMe), which is a faster interface than SAS or SATA SSDs. NVMe over Fabrics can run over high-speed Ethernet or Fibre Channel networks.
