Buffalo Technology introduces new NAS device for SMBs: TeraStation ES

Buffalo Technology announced a new product for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), TeraStation ES, a high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) device. TeraStation ES is a RAID-based NAS device that comes with features such as Active Directory integration, real-time share data replication and hot swap and hot spare hard drives. The NAS device also comes with a large power supply and 128-bit AES encryption for added data security.

Pricing for TeraStation ES is listed at $699.99 for 2 TB, $899.99 for 4 TB, $1,299.99 for 6 TB and $1,699.99 for 8 TB.

Tiger Technology ships poolIT Server, a file and storage virtualization software tool for SMBs

Tiger Technology announced that it started shipping poolIT Server, a file and storage virtualization product for SMBs. poolIT Server works to isolate users and applications from changes in a physical storage infrastructure by unifying devices in a single space. poolIT Server has the ability to virtualize direct-attached storage (DAS), NAS and storage area network (SAN) storage, add or remove new storage to an existing pool and migrate data from one device to another without interrupting users. Other features include the ability to expand capacity of storage infrastructure and the option of using tiered storage. Pricing for poolIT Server starts at $995.

Wavelink releases VoIP product for SMBs

Wavelink Communications released Digium Switchvox SMB 4.5, a new version of Switchvox, a Voice over IP (VoIP) product designed specifically for SMBs. Digium Switchvox SMB 4.5 is an IP PBX that has features such as fax, chat and video calling over a web interface. Other features include a Polycom phone handset, failover to a backup server, support for multiple extensions on one handset, user profiles, language support and a monitoring system. Switchvox SMB 4.5 is currently available free of charge to users with a current subscription of Switchvox SMB.

StorageCraft releases ShadowProtect Granular Recovery for Exchange

StorageCraft Technology Corp. released a new data backup and disaster recovery product, the StorageCraft ShadowProtect Granular Recovery for Exchange. ShadowProtect gives data storage administrators the ability to restore individual Exchange mailboxes, email messages and email attachments without having to restore the entire database, which can minimize downtime after a crisis. It can also be beneficial for SMBs, who may not have the resources to hire an Exchange administrator.
