New Orleans law firm gears up for hurricanes
In response to the devastating effects of the 2005 hurricane season, New Orleans law firm Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann L.L.C. has implemented Neverfail Group Ltd.'s high-availability and disaster recovery software. Neverfail's software will protect Stone Pigman's applications and sensitive legal data in advance of the four to six "major" storms predicted to become hurricanes of Category 3 strength or higher, as forecast by the National Hurricane Center for the upcoming 2006 hurricane season.

Adaptec RAID controllers support Intel Xeon chips
Adaptec Inc. announced that its RAID technology, including its RAID-on-a-chip product, has been tested for compatibility with the new Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors. In extensive testing, Adaptec SCSI, SATA II and SAS controller technology has been proven to increase I/O subsystem performance on systems built with the new Dual-Core Intel Xeon processor, Adaptec claims.
