Emulex has announced new products that can be used in both IP and FC SANs.

Emulex announces iSCSI, FCIP routers
Emulex announced a new line of multiprotocol storage router products, the Emulex Storage Router Models 725 and 735. The new Emulex Storage Routers include both the iSCSI and FCIP protocols. The Emulex Storage Router Model 725 enables Ethernet-based servers to connect into Fibre Channel-based storage and existing SAN infrastructure, while the Emulex Storage Router Model 735 enables connectivity between remote SANs using the IP network. Evaluation units of both models are available now and are shipping to OEMs. General availability is expected this summer.

Virtua Health selects Mimosa
Mimosa Systems Inc. announced that Virtua Health, a multihospital healthcare organization in Southern New Jersey, has selected its NearPoint e-mail archiving product for its 8,900 medical and administrative staff members. Mimosa is part of a campaign by Virtua to go completely paperless.

Asigra, OnStor team on remote backup
Backup software maker Asigra announced that it has partnered with NAS gateway maker OnStor to package its newly launched Televaulting 6.0 software with OnStor's Bobcat Series Enterprise NAS gateways. Core Consultancy, a disaster recovery service provider in the U.K., is the first customer to deploy the joint product.

Kingston targets enterprise with USB drive
Kingston Technology Co. Inc. introduced the DataTraveler Elite –-- Privacy Edition USB Flash drive, which includes 128-bit hardware-based AES encryption. The 4 GB drive is being targeted at enterprise users with security and compliance requirements.

3Par introduces system reporter
3Par announced the availability of 3Par System Reporter, a Web-based historical performance and capacity management reporting tool for the 3Par InServ Storage Server. 3Par System Reporter provides system data for multiple InServs and will work with geographically dispersed systems. Users can create and display reports by server and by application data set (virtual LUN), and monitor performance by I/O's per second, megabytes per second, and I/O service times (latency per I/O). Data sampling can be set in up to one minute increments.

Zantaz announces hosted mailboxes
Zantaz Inc. announced First Archive On Demand, the integration of two of its applications combining mailbox/file management capabilities and hosted archiving. Previously, companies had the choice of on-site mailbox management or a hosted archive.
