McData expands presence in China
Digital China, China's largest IT products distributor and systems integrator, has now added McData Corp.'s full product suite, including Intrepid Directors, Sphereon Fabric Switches, Eclipse SAN Routers and McData SANavigator to its more than 6,000 resellers throughout China.

FilesX protecting college data
Data protection and recovery vendor FilesX Inc. has scored top marks in providing information protection at institutions of higher learning. The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Roxbury Community College, New York School of Interior Design and St. Michael's College are among the institutions to recently protect their data and reduce the cost of managing data with the FilesX Data Protection and Recovery Product Suite.

Israel's largest bank calls on StoreAge for backup
StoreAge Networking Technologies, a provider of SAN management and data protection, announced that Bank Hapoalim, Israel's largest bank, is using StoreAge SVM and data protection applications throughout its multisite call centers. Bank Hapoalim selected StoreAge SVM to manage its SAN consisting of two identical call center sites -- a main site and a DR site. Each site serves about 150 call-center operators working in a 24x7 production environment.

LeftHand customer named digital city of the year
LeftHand Networks, a provider of IP SAN products, announced that the city of Ogden, Utah, has been named the No. 1 digital city of its population category, according to an annual survey conducted by the Center for Digital Government. The LeftHand SAN played an important role in the city of Ogden's strategy to use an IP infrastructure and reduce IT spending. The city of Ogden is using LeftHand's IP SAN for remote replication, centralized backup and shared data access across multiple locations.
