Storage router maker Crossroads has beefed up its performing monitoring capabilities with the acquisition of Teracruz; Network Engines reports losses.

Crossroads buys Teracruz
Storage router manufacturer Crossroads Systems Inc. has purchased the assets of Teracruz Inc., a privately held company located in Huntsville, Ala. The financial details were not disclosed. Teracruz makes performance monitoring software for database and application performance management, service level monitoring that provides management of application and database service levels, and application acceleration technology that provides application response time improvements, reducing demand on database servers.

Network Engines reports Q4 net loss
Network Engines Inc., a provider of storage and security server appliance products, has reported its financial results for its fiscal fourth quarter and year ended September 30, 2004. Net revenues of $30.9 million compared to $34.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2004 and $28.8 million reported in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2003. The company reported a net loss for the quarter of $1.2 million, or $0.03 per share compared to net income of $726,000, or $0.02 per share, in the third quarter of fiscal 2004.

MiraLink hires former Intel veteran
Portland-based MiraLink Corp., a provider of services to mirror data offsite in real time, has announced the hiring of former Intel strategic planning manager and industry veteran Allen Engstrom to serve as the company's chief financial officer. Engstrom will be responsible for all finance and accounting functions and will play a significant role in strategic planning.
