Transitioning careers

I work as a secretary and I am thinking about the IT field. I want to take the MCSE certification and not the full four-year study for computer science. Which certification should I start off studying for, A+, Network or MCSE? I am confused about which one to start off with but I think I would like the database manager type of background.

In my opinion, the transition in career that you are seeking to make with your present plan will be very difficult. I'd urge you to evaluate some other alternatives.

A move from being a professional secretary to a technical position is difficult. Certification alone may not do it, unless you obtain some sort of commitment from your current employer that you'll be able to make such a move inside your present company where you've already established a record of job performance.
