Can Fibre Channel fabrics handle quality of service, i.e. prioritized storage traffic and bandwidth guarantees according to given rules?
No, there is no QoS in Fibre Channel. Theoretically, Class 1 gives it to you but there are no Class 1 switches that I know of (Inrange maybe). Even so, there are no Class 1 HBAs.

Dig Deeper on SAN technology and arrays
At the Storage Decisions conference this April, Randy Kerns, a senior partner with the Evaluator Group Inc., will moderate a panel discussion on iSCSI, the IP storage standard that promises low-cost storage networks. The panelists will include some brave souls who were among the first end users to adopt iSCSI technology.
In this interview, Kerns shares some common misconceptions about iSCSI, describes how the technology might change the price of Fibre Channel SANs, and explains what users can expect from his discussion at Storage Decisions.
