We're looking for feedback on the new EMC NS600 NAS box. We are close to making a purchase decision on one. We're also considering a NetApp F940 and Procom NF3500/3600 box as well. I'm looking for any feedback particularly on the NS600 and also how it stack-up against the competition. Any feedback or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
The EMC NS600 has some very nice features and good performance. It is based on the CLARiiON and the Celerra data movers so it has a well-proven base and should be very stable. The other products are good products as well and vary in feature/functions offered and price. I always recommend that you do your homework before making a decision and don't accept someone's recommendation (especially a vendor) unless they understand your requirements. Make a list of your requirements and a list of features/functions that you need in a NAS box. Fill it in with information on the candidate solutions and use that to lead to an informed decision.
