About the White Paper:
As a best practice, customers should baseline hosts, storage area networks (SANs) and storage configurations before putting them into production. Baseline activity uses a simple, easy-to-run and easy-to-understand load, which serves many purposes including finding performance bottlenecks, load balancing and fixing hardware infant-mortality.
This white paper presents a new baseline load mechanism suited for
EVA-based configurations before they are deployed. Experiments and tests were performed in the BASS lab with a setup consisting of two AlphaServer GS320 hosts supporting a Tru64 UNIX operating system and TruCluster operating environment connected to EVA- and EMA-based storage by means of a four-fabric 2G-capable SAN. |
