In today's storage environments, varied backup and recovery solutions offer only partial security. Full data protection is a challenge yet to be addressed. New solutions are sought to enable data protection practices that do not hinder business efforts to achieve operational and financial goals.

This paper examines data protection challenges and the solutions offered by Sun -- examples of Sun's new storage vision, which is designed to answer today's data protection needs and scale for and serve future requirements.
