Always use "persistent binding" in your SAN. Never ever allow "default binding."
In a Solaris environment, for example, you should try to assign a specific SCSI_Tid to each RAID or JBOD. Use WWN to SCSI_Tid binding.
Make sure you get your supplier to help you understand this.
Plan this before the first box arrives.
