Performing a storage inventory
To do a storage inventory of your system, just run "hwr". This is a GNU tool that's available at the following URL:

of freely downloadable Unix and Windows NT system tools under the tool name, HARDWR (hwr), "lists your hardware equipment under Unix and Windows NT environments." It covers the following UNIX and Linux OS flavors: Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Digital Unix, Ultrix, Irix, SCO Unix, Linux, NextStep. hwr can also display results in English, French and German.
