- IPI (Intelligent Peripheral Interface) is a high-bandwidth interface between a computer and a hard disk or a tape device. Devices using IPI can transfer data between the hard drive and RAM in the range between 3 and 25 megabytes per second.The latest version of IPI is IPI-3, which supports redundant array of independent disks.
