host bus adapter

Show me everything on Fibre Channel (FC) SAN

DEFINITION - A host bus adapter (HBA) is a circuit board and/or integrated circuit adapter that provides input/output (I/O) processing and physical connectivity between a server and a storage device. Because the HBA relieves the host microprocessor of both data storage and retrieval tasks, it can improve the server's performance time. An HBA and its associated disk subsystems are sometimes referred to as a disk channel.

Learn more about Fibre Channel (FC) SAN
8 Gbps Fibre Channel: Price driving adoption of the SAN storage technology: IT organizations can gain benefits from 8 Gbps Fibre Channel and the price differential with 4 Gbps gear is shrinking, but its adoption is slower than with 4 Gbps FC.
Adoption of 8 Gbps Fibre Channel protocol expected to soar this year after sluggish start: Adoption of 8 Gbps Fibre Channel SAN storage poised to take off as economy improves, prices drop and products flood the market, but many users drag feet on end-to-end upgrade.
Fibre Channel SAN: Upgrading to 8 Gbps for storage networks a logical step as prices drop: Upgrading a Fibre Channel SAN to 8 Gbps is the natural next step for IT shops refreshing their storage networks as prices of host bus adapters, switches and arrays drop.
I/O virtualization: Approaches and implementations: Learn which companies have offerings in the I/O virtualization space, how they approach network infrastructure problems, and the pros and cons of each product.
I/O virtualization and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE): How do they differ?: Learn how I/O virtualization and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) differ, and get advice for which product to choose if you take the I/O virtualization path.
