Products of the Year 2010:

Find out the winners in the Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com enterprise data storage 2010 Products of the Year awards

For enterprise data storage managers in dire need of help to control and manage storage growth and to deal with budget shortfalls, this year's crop of Storage Products of the Year winners should be a clear signal that relief is on the way. Our list features innovations in cloud storage, solid-state storage and server virtualization support -- technology categories that have long been predicted to change the storage landscape -- as well as improvements to workhorse products you're likely well familiar with.

The Products of the Year competition recognizes the best new or updated storage products in five categories: backup and disaster recovery (DR) software and services, backup hardware, disks and disk subsystems, storage management tools and storage networking equipment. Each Products of the Year finalist, chosen from among close to 200 entrants, was rated by our panel of judges based on the criteria of innovation, performance, ease of integration into environment, ease of use and manageability, functionality and value.

As in years past, this year's gold, silver and bronze winners include some repeat performers (notably in the backup and disaster recovery software and services, backup hardware, and disks and disk subsystems categories), as well as a number of products from startup companies. In some categories -- in particular, storage management tools and storage networking equipment -- top awards went to relative newcomers our judges say are living up to their claims of saving money and making the job of managing storage easier.

Congratulations to all the winning vendors for their outstanding products!
