Emulex HBA gain software compatibility

ProvisionSoft Inc., Andover, Mass., has certified Emulex Corp.'s LightPulse 2Gb/s LP9002L and 1Gb/s LP8000 Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) for use with ProvisionSoft's DynamicIT software. The companies worked together to confirm the compatibility of DynamicIT with Emulex's HBAs. The certification is designed to verify that DynamicIT is deployable in enterprise data centers that already utilize Emulex's HBAs. The HBAs offer a firmware-based architecture and operating system driver compatibility across Emulex's entire HBA product line, which provides customers with an upgrade path. The DynamicIT software allocates and utilizes storage and server resources in a data center by recognizing utilization levels and then allocating the right resources at the right time, according to ProvisionSoft.
