NetApp sells off NetCache business
Network Appliance Inc. (NetApp) announced that it will sell its NetCache business to Blue Coat Systems. NetApp's NetCache appliances store frequently viewed Web pages, keeping that content more readily accessible to users.
"This divestiture allows us to sharpen our focus on data management solutions and services for the enterprise data center," said Jay Kidd, senior vice president and general manager of NetApp Emerging Products Group. "Over the long term, our NetCache customers will be better served working with a supplier who has a broader offering in the content delivery market and a strategic commitment to the Internet access, security and proxy market."
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Brocade partners with distributor, Synnex
Brocade Communications Systems Inc. announced that it has completed a strategic distribution partnership agreement with Synnex Corp., an IT supply chain services company that provides the reseller channel with products from world leading manufacturers.
CommVault upgrades replication
CommVault Systems Inc. announced general availability of ContinuousDataReplicator (CDR), Version 6.1 software, extending support for the remote office market. A component of the CommVault QiNetix Unified Data Management suite, CDR is integrated with, and aware of, key enterprise applications, such as Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server. CDR can be configured as a standalone replication solution or as part of the company's QiNetix data management suite.
