Brocade joins EMC Select
Brocade Communications Systems Inc. announced that selected Brocade-branded storage area network (SAN) connectivity products are now available through the EMC Select Program. This expansion of the ongoing Brocade and EMC Corp. relationship creates a new option for customers to purchase the Brocade line of 4 Gbps SAN switches and SAN connectivity bundles designed for departmental and small and midsized business applications for use with EMC storage.
OnSpec announces Apple USB backup
IntellaSys Corp. announced through its OnSpec subsidiary the immediate availability of backup software for both Apple Power PC and Intel Macintosh systems. OEMs that incorporate OnSpec interface controller chips into their products have the option to furnish Regen software, which synchronizes new data to be backed up to USB-based storage drives.
Hitachi picks services executive
Hitachi Consulting, the business and IT consulting arm of Hitachi Ltd., has named Joel Hill as its new managing vice president of Global Services. Global Services will have two key areas of focus for Hitachi Consulting and is comprised of two subteams, the Japan Team and the Global Solutions Center Team. The Japan Team will serve as a bridge to the recently established Hitachi Consulting -- Japan practice.
