CA, GlassHouse deepen partnership
CA Inc. is expected to officially announce next week that it has signed a new agreement with consulting firm GlassHouse Technologies Inc. GlassHouse, which previously had been involved in a few customer engagements with CA, has now formally signed on to provide CA customers with consulting services for mapping business strategy to infrastructure; assessment services for e-mail archiving; storage management, disaster recovery and data protection; and design and implementation services for CA's storage management software.
"They'll become more familiar with our offerings," said Wayne Salpietro, CA director of product marketing. "We're going to be cross-training each other."
CA seems to be jumping aboard a storage services bandwagon that gained serious steam this week with an announcement that EMC will be offering managed services (See Storage Clips, April 12).
Rasilient announces Rastor 6000
Rasilient Systems Inc.announced its new Rastor 6000 SAS/SATA RAID storage platform. The platform is comprised of a 3U RAID array and up to three 2U, 12 bay SAS expansion JBODs. The SAS Expansion JBODs, which will be available in June, increase the system capacity to a total of 51 SAS, SATA or mixed drives. Universal host connectivity is available using Rasilient's "Adaptive" storage architecture that allows users to configure systems as IPSAN, FC SAN, SAS or NAS arrays. The Rastor 6000 can also provide active-active controller failover, complete redundancy and hot swap capability for all major components, as well as remote management software.
Netezza updates Performance Server line
Data warehouse appliance maker Netezza Corp. announced product and pricing updates to its Performance Server (NPS) systems. NPS now includes three product lines, scaling from a few hundred gigabytes to 100 terabytes. The NPS 5000 Series, the newest addition, scales to 3 TB and is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses. Netezza has also increased the load speed of its NPS system to 500 GB per hour and introduced a flexible pricing program that will allow customers to scale performance and capacity independently.
