NetApp unveils Web gateway appliance
Network Appliance Inc. (NetApp) released the NetApp NetCache C1300 system, an appliance designed to provide Web security for remote and branch offices, as well as accelerate access to Web content and applications. The NetCache C1300 offers 1GB of RAM and scales up to three internal disk drives. The security services provided by the gateway include access policy management, Spyware prevention, filtering, proxy and caching.
New Mac backup announced
Data Protection Solutions released a version of its EzBackup-sa, a disk-to-disk mirroring, backup and restore box, for Apple computers. EzBackup-sa is a USB-based, standalone device that creates a fully bootable mirror image copy of the user's system and restores the entire system and its data.
Iron Mountain picks compliance partner
Iron Mountain announced a partnership with Orchestria Corp., to offer its compliance software with Iron Mountain's Digital Archives outsourced electronic records management service. Orchestria's software prevents noncompliant electronic messages from being sent, stored or posted, and scrutinizes acts of noncompliance to deter repeat offenses.
