NEW YORK -- After a year and a half in stealth mode another start-up called Invio Software marked the first phase of their company's launch on Thursday during the RBC Market Capital investors conference being held here last week.

Founded by a group of ex-Legato Systems Inc., employees, including its former chief technology officer, the company announced its first product will be launched for beta next week. Their software product -- which has yet to be publicly named -- focuses on linking applications to storage. Target customers are organizations with a SAN installed today or those planning on implementing one in the next twelve months.

President and CEO Ranga Rangachari thinks this market is ripe for the taking. "There has been too much noise in the marketplace," he said. And, added that while the storage management software market is still in its early stages there are too many vendors parading back and forth proclaiming their software is the solution to any and all storage management problems.
