Hitachi Data Systems will co-brand and resell InMage Systems' Appshot technology for application recovery with its midrange storage systems.

InMage products combine continuous data protection (CDP), remote replication and application failover in a single platform. InMage supports Microsoft Exchange, SQL and SharePoint, as well as Oracle, MySQL, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, SAP and any Windows, Linux or Unix file system.

Dot Hill launches small form factor iSCSI storage arrays

Dot Hill Systems Corp. is adding iSCSI RAID storage to its small form factor 2.5-inch disk array product line, as well as three new products to its mainstream 2000 series of disk arrays. The new arrays incorporate Dot Hill's next-generation controller family for higher performance, new wizard configuration tools, and optional upgrades to Dot Hill's AssuredCopy and AssuredSnap data protection software. The new platform includes the Dot Hill 2322 2.5-inch and 2332 3.5-inch iSCSI SAN arrays, the 2532 direct-attached SAS array, as well as 2732 4 Gbps Fibre Channel SAN arrays.

Dell certifies Force10 switches for EqualLogic iSCSI SAN

Force10 Networks Inc. said its C-Series family of resilient switches and S-Series S25N/S50N access switches have been tested and validated for inclusion in Dell EqualLogic-iSCSI storage arrays. The Force10 switches support Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE).

U.S. Army chooses Spectra Logic for data protection

Spectra Logic Corp. said the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) agency in Michigan replaced its Sun StorageTek L700e tape library with two Spectra T950 tape libraries using LTO-4 technology. The U.S. Army TARDEC designated one Spectra T950 for classified data and the other for unclassified data to ease its administrative burden.

VISI picks ParaScale software for new cloud storage platform

ParaScale Inc. said Minnesota-based hosting services provider VISI has selected ParaScale software as the storage platform for its cloud services.

Samsung and Kroll Ontrack partner to provide data recovery services

Kroll Ontrack said its enhanced data recovery service program for Samsung Hard Disk Drive (HDD) customers is available. The partnership between Samsung and Kroll Ontrack has expanded the level of service, support and options for Samsung customers via the development of a new global online system that connects customers who need help directly to Ontrack Data Recovery experts.

Stealth Software calls on Caringo CAStor for messaging

Caringo Inc. said the Stealth Content Store for Zimbra Collaboration Suite launched by Netherlands-based Stealth Software Inc. uses Caringo CAStor as a cluster for its message storage.

Panasas file system expert co-chairs SNIA group

Don Grabski, director of product management at Panasas Inc., has been appointed co-chairman of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Network File System Special Interest Group (NFS SIG). Grabski will collaborate with industry leaders from companies such as EMC Corp., NetApp Inc., and Sun Microsystems Inc. to drive market growth and broad adoption of Network File Systems (NFS). The group will focus on the continued standardization and adoption of Parallel I/O Network File System (pNFS) for NAS.

JMR Electronics, AJA combine for Final Cut video editing

JMR Electronics Inc. said its BlueStor PeSAN PCIe-attached storage systems are compatible with AJA Video System's KONA digital video interface and conversion cards for Final Cut Studio non-linear editing and content creation software.
