Weekly compilation of storage news:

Riverbed, Emulex revenues dip
Riverbed reported that its revenues for the first quarter of 2008 were $73 million, an increase of 71% from the first quarter of 2007, but a decline from $76 million in revenues for the previous quarter. Net income was also down to $638,000 from $4.8 million in the previous quarter. Riverbed CEO Jerry Kennelly said that the results "were impacted by a lengthening sales cycle at some accounts due to macro-economic trends."

Emulex said revenues were down 2% from the previous quarter to $127.8 million and revised its guidance down for the June quarter to $118-$123 million. Emulex CEO Jim McCluney said most of the decline was due to weakening demand for Emulex's host server products, such as mezzanine cards for blade server chassis.

FalconStor revenues also dipped a bit sequentially to $21.8 million from $24.8 million while increasing 33 percent from last year. FalconStor reported net income of $1.3 million, down from $5.7 million in the previous quarter but up from a loss of $600,000 last year.
