Weekly compilation of storage news:

Storage vendors focus on encryption
As reported last year by SearchStorage.com, EMC has added disk encryption to its PowerPath multipathing software. The new feature, based on encryption IP bought with RSA, will allow automatic encryption of data at rest on Symmetrix and Clariion disk arrays, with centralized management and automation of encryption keys. The new software will become available in May.

HP added several storage security products to its Secure Advantage portfolio, including the first OEM rollout of Cisco's SAN encryption switch. It also added the StorageWorks 1/8 G2 and MSL LTO-4 Encryption Kit, which is a small library and key management system meant for SMBs or ROBOs, integration between the HP StorageWorks Secure Key Manager and the HP Compliance Log Warehouse, and a free storage security assessment tool on the HP Web site.
