Fujifilm launches LoJack for tape
Fujifilm Recording Media has a new way to secure tape -- the Fujifilm Tape Tracker, a wireless tool that tracks the location and status of removable media cartridges in transit. Fujifilm is partnering with SCI to provide real-time monitoring and notification for the Tape Tracker using the Fujifind Web application.

F5 TAPped by VMware
F5 Networks and its file virtualization subsidiary Acopia have joined the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program. F5 can now use VMware testing software, marketing tools and technical support for technology integration between the two companies.

Emulex 8 Gbps HBAs supported in Oracle VM
Emulex's LightPulse line of 8 Gbps HBAs are now supported in Oracle VM server virtualization software. Emulex is also working with Oracle on industry-standard N-Port ID Virtualization.

Atto makes Mac iSCSI initiator for HP EVA
Atto's Version 3.10 Xtend SAN iSCSI initiator is available for use with Hewlett-Packard StorageWorks EVAs, adding connectivity for Mac environments to access Fibre Channel storage via iSCSI. The new version includes Leopard support, CHAP support, iSNS support and login redirect.

Marathon launches failover for virtual servers
Marathon unveiled everRun VM fault-tolerant high availability for Citrix XenServer, adding a synchronous mirror of the data between systems so failover is automated and the application can continue running. The software is in beta, with general availability slated for April.

StoneFly adds NAS gateways
StoneFly rolled out StoneFlex, a new line of Windows-based, NAS gateways for use with StoneFly IP SANs. Three StoneFlex models are now available, including entry level, standard and enterprise systems, with the enterprise model supporting clustering for up to eight nodes.

AccessData releases eDiscovery package
AccessData released AccessData eDiscovery, which identifies, preserves and processes data from desktops, servers, data repositories, databases and email.

QuickLogic speeds PATA data transfers
QuickLogic has developed an UDMA system block for its CSSP platforms. The UDMA block claims to quadruple the speed of PATA data transfers from 16 Mbps to 66 Mbps. It works in ATA/ATAPI-5 modes, as well as multiword DMA and PIO modes, and includes driver software for the Linux operating system.

Bocada ships Centralized Manager
Bocada launched the Bocada Centralized Manager for Microsoft System Center DPM 2007, the first module in the Bocada Unified Management Platform.

Crossroads launches encrypted virtual tape appliance
Crossroads released SecureVTS, a Virtual TapeServer encryption product.

Autonomy adds search features
Autonomy has added features to its IDOL e-discovery search platform. New features include drag and drop personalization.

Attune and Data Domain integrate
Attune's Maestro File Manager 2.6 added compatibility with Data Domain's data deduplication box. The Attune appliance is generally available now starting at an MSRP of $34,995.
