CommVault files for IPO
Data management software startup CommVault announced that it has filed a registration statement for the proposed initial public offering (IPO) of its common stock with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The registration has not yet become effective, and no date was given for when the IPO would be active.
The shares of common stock to be sold in the offering are expected to be offered by CommVault and certain of its stockholders. Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and Goldman, Sachs & Co. will be acting as joint book-running managers of the proposed offering. Merrill Lynch & Co., Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, RBC Capital Markets, C.E. UnterbergTowbin LLC are also acting as underwriters for the proposed offering.
Topio joins NetApp partner program
Data replication and recovery software startup Topio Inc. announced it has officially joined the Network Appliance (NetApp) Partner Program. As a NetApp Partner Program member, Topio's Data Protection Suite will be offered to NetApp customers and replicate data to NetApp NearStore storage systems.
German research center consolidates with Brocade
Brocade announced that Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, a German research and development organization, has chosen Brocade SilkWorm 48000 directors to consolidate its SAN islands. In addition to SAN consolidation, the SilkWorm directors will be used to connect three existing fabrics -- GridKa, CampusGrid and a third fabric based in the organization's production facility.
