NetApp supports Cisco WAFS
Network Appliance Inc. and Cisco Systems have announced interoperability between Cisco's wide area file services (WAFS) product, dubbed the File Engine Series and NetApp's FAS primary storage systems, NearStore and V-Series appliances. Cisco's product will consolidate remote enterprise data from branch offices to a corporate data center; NetApp storage systems will store the consolidated data. NetApp and Cisco will also share tech support and customer service duties.

The partnership comes several months after EMC surprised the market with its announcement that Cisco would resell its NAS boxes in conjunction with the Cisco File Engine product.
