Western Digital releases desktop SATA drives
Western Digital Corp. has announced the availability of high capacity 400 GB SATA WD Caviar SE16 desktop-class hard drives. The new drives, which will be available immediately via WD's Web site and distributors, are priced at $279 each and covered under a three-year warranty. Customers who order WD Caviar SE16 400 GB hard drives from WD's online store before Aug. 31, 2005 will receive free standard shipping on all hard drives.

FilesX offers nonprofit discount
FilesX Inc. has announced a discount of 33% on its continuous data protection backup products for nonprofit agencies, including hospitals and higher education institutions. The offer also includes 180-day money-back guarantee.

Unitrends adds data vaulting
Unitrends announced that its entire line of Data Protection Unit network storage appliances now include the ability to electronically vault data from or to offsite locations.

Vaultlogix chooses Constant Data
Vaultlogix Inc., an internet vaulting provider, has chosen Constant Data Inc.'s Constant Replicator software to replicate customer data to a second facility, the companies announced. Vaultlogix securely protects critical data for more 450 customers in geographically diverse locations.
