Iomega to double hard drive capacity
Iomega plans to double the capacity of its Rev line of removable hard drives, based on standard 2.5-inch hard drive technology, to 70 GB by the middle of next year, as well as update its NAS product line, the company said.


PolyServe backs NFS development
Software developers at the University of Michigan have received backing from PolyServe Inc. to help create an industry-standard implementation of storage protocol, Network File System Version 4 (NFSv4) for Linux. NFS is the standard for fast file sharing among networked computers and storage equipment, such as NAS devices. The next generation of NFS, Version 4, enables huge improvements in file-sharing security and performance, among other enhancements.


Sanrad, JMR offer IP SAN
Sanrad Inc and JMR Electronics announced the availability of an all-in-one iSCSI IP SAN for under $23,000. The package includes Sanrad's V-Switch 2000 and JMR's Fortra A5 SCSI-to-SATA RAID array.
