Xiotech supports Novell OES, PACS
Xiotech Corp. announced support for Novell Open Enterprise Server (OES) on Magnitude 3D. Xiotech, an early OES beta partner, continues to work with Novell to test and certify OES in advance of its official release and will announce full certification soon. Xiotech also announced expanded support for picture archiving communications systems (PACS), widely used in the medical industry. The Magnitude 3D arrays are now certified for use with KODAK PACS System 5 and eMed Matrix. The Magnitude 3D also adds support for TeraMedica's Evercore Clinical Information Archive, which bridges the PACS world and the Electronic Medical Record arena.


Breece Hill unveils new optical drives
Breece Hill, a storage company targeting small and medium-sized businesses, announced the general availability of the MaxOptix T8 and T7 optical drives. The T8 is based on blue-violet laser technologies, with three times the capacity (23.3 GB) and of optical technology. Breece Hill said that T8 works best for long-term storage of medical images and document imaging records. The T7 is based on Magneto Optical laser technologies and provides a migration path for customers using earlier generations of MaxOptix, and doubles the capacity to 9.1 GB and increases speed by 15%, the company said.


Aarohi tests its chips
SAN chip maker, Aarohi Communications Inc., has tested its processor against the Synopsys verification benchmark, for the functional verification of its next-generation FabricStream intelligent storage product. The single-compiler Native Testbench technology will enable Aarohi to increase the performance and effectiveness of its verification environment as compared to using separate testbench and simulation tools.


Infortrend meets new standards
Storage networking vendor, Infortrend, announced that its management systems have received certification for The International Organization for Standardization's (ISO) ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:1996 standards. ISO 9000 is an international reference for quality management requirements in business-to-business dealings, while ISO 14000 enables organizations to meet their environmental challenges.
