McData teams with AppIQ for CIM development
McData Corp., Broomfield, Colo., and AppIQ Inc., Burlington, Mass., announced that the two companies are working together on developing technology based on the Common Information Model (CIM). McData has enrolled in AppIQ's CIMIQ Partner Program, and AppIQ is one of the first members of McData's OpenReady Developer Program. The two companies will demonstrate a complete CIM implementation in the Storage Networking Industry Association's (SNIA) CIM-SAN interoperability lab at Storage Networking World in April.
ADIC bags reseller
Advanced Digital Information Corp., Redmond, Wash., and MSC Software Corp., Santa Ana, Calif., signed a reseller agreement for ADIC's StorNext Management Suite data management software. The agreement makes ADIC's StorNext File System and StorNext Storage Manager software available to MSC Software customers as part of that company's integrated IT services offering. ADIC said the integration of StorNext Management Suite into MSC Software's modeling, simulation, and computer-aided engineering (CAE) environments will provide more effective use of SAN technology by enabling high performance data sharing and increased storage resource utilization. It will also provide the framework for Total Data Life Management™ (TDLM), advanced data life-cycle management, in a wide variety of industries from automobiles and aircraft to electronic products, the company said.MSC Software Corp. QLogic gets iSCSI, FC HBAs qualified with Legato
QLogic Corp., Aliso Viejo, Calif., announced that Legato Systems Inc., Mountain View, Calif., has qualified QLogic's entire line of SANblade iSCSI and Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) as well as QLogic SANbox2 Fibre Channel switches for use with Legato NetWorker software. QLogic said it is the first storage infrastructure vendor to have its entire iSCSI and Fibre Channel product line qualified as interoperable with the Legato NetWorker software line, which offers several editions tailored for different computing environments.Legato Systems Inc. Emulex gets EMC DMX certified
Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Emulex Corp., a supplier of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs), announced that EMC Corp., Hopkinton, Mass., has qualified the Emulex LightPulse LP9802DC 2Gb/s Dual Channel Fibre Channel PCI-X HBA as E-Lab Tested in Linux and Windows environments. The LP9802DC, along with many generations of previously E-Lab qualified Emulex HBAs, including the 2Gb/s PCI-X LP9802 and LP982 and the 2Gb/s LP9002 family, are compatible with the new EMC Symmetrix DMX series as well as the Clariion CX series, Emulex said.Emulex Corp.
