Overland Data, Inc., San Diego, Calif., has appointed Christopher Calisi president and chief executive officer, succeeding Scott McClendon, who was named to the newly created position of chairman of the board. Calisi, formerly the chief executive officer of eHelp Corp., a player Internet development tools market, will be responsible for the definition and execution of the company?s future strategic plans as well as day-to-day operations. New management for ManagedStorage
Thomas Sweeney has been named president and chief executive officer (CEO) of ManagedStorage International, Inc., a storage services provider (SSP) based in Westminster, Colo. Sweeney's experience includes companies such as Level 3 Communications, WorldCom, MFS Communications and MCI Communications. Sweeney is currently a member of ManagedStorage's Board of Directors and will remain a member of the Board as he assumes the role of president and CEO. Parent to head up WorldStor Ops
WorldStor, Inc., Fairfax, Va.-based storage services provider (SSP), has hired Paul Parent as its senior vice president of operations. Parent comes to WorldStor from Intira, based in Pleasanton, Calif. As VP of Operations at Intira, he managed the day-to-day operations of the company's network and three data centers providing managed hosting services. Prior to Intira, Parent spent 13 years at Motorola, Inc., in various technical and management positions.WorldStor, Inc.
ADIC nabs Quantum exec
Advanced Digital Information Corp., Redmond, Wash., announced that John Powell has joined the company as senior vice president, operations, a new position created to manage the Company's global manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service operations. Most recently, Powell served as vice president and general manager of the DLTtape Drive Division within Quantum Corp.'s Storage Systems Group, where he was responsible for operations and strategic directions. Powell will report to Chuck Stonecipher, ADIC president and chief operating officer. While with Quantum, Powell consolidated three Colorado sites into one, built an operations team that more than doubled the division's production capacity, and set up a major corporate site in Penang, Malaysia.
