JNI Corp., San Diego, Calif., a manufacturer of enterprise-level storage area network (SAN) products and Fibre Channel-based host bus adapters (HBAs) for Solaris servers, has made two appointments to its executive management team. Shaun Walsh was appointed vice president of marketing, while Hugo Santos assumes the position of vice president of human resources. JNI said that the appointments are a step toward paving the way for the company's long-term growth. Walsh is responsible for all marketing activities worldwide including product management, corporate communications, channel marketing and strategic alliances. MTI names new CFO
Dale Wight has landed the position of chief financial officer for MTI Technology Corp. Wight, the former director of finance for Informix Software, Inc., will head up the company's financial and accounting functions on a worldwide basis. His responsibilities include financial forecasting, reporting and analysis. Paul Emery, MTI's chief operating officer, was acting chief financial officer before the appointment. StorageNetworks looks in-house for engineering and operations leader
StorageNetworks, Inc., a Waltham, Mass.-based storage services provider (SSP) announced the promotion of Mike Tardif to executive vice president of engineering and operations. In his new position, Tardif will direct the team responsible for StorageNetworks' software development technology, as well as the lead efforts in the current build-out of the StorageNetworks' Global Data Storage Network (GDSN). Tardif will continue to report directly to co-founder, Chairman and CEO, Peter Bell. Tardif joined StorageNetworks in January of 2000, from The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. where he was vice president of IT infrastructure.StorageNetworks, Inc.
SmartDisk nabs logistics guru
SmartDisk Corp., Naples, Fla., appointed Ben Schugar to the position of senior vice president, operations for the Company's Personal Storage Systems (PSS) division. Schugar will manage the PSS division's manufacturing, procurement, customer fulfillment, and technical support functions. The division designs, engineers, markets and supports the Company's line of ultra-slim portable hard drives, portable CD/R-W drives and other digital data storage products. Prior to joining SmartDisk, Mr. Schugar was executive vice president, global operations for Logicare, Inc. of Melville, NY. Xdrive appoints new exec
Internet storage specialist Xdrive Technologies, Inc., has brought Karl Klessig on board as its new executive vice president. Klessig will focus on strategic development for Xdrive, headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif. ring his career, Klessig founded and was CEO of three software and technology companies. Klessig is a frequent speaker around the world on topics such as strategic partnering, market directions and technology evolution. Chaparral appoints, promotes new executives
Chaparral Network Storage, Inc., a storage networking solutions provider announced two new appointments to the executive team. Ted Niemann has been promoted to Vice President of Finance. In his new role, Niemann will oversee all accounting and finance responsibilities for the company. Niemann has served as Chaparral's Controller since June 1999. In addition, Robert Selinger has been appointed to Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.
