Brief: SanCastle appoints CEO

SanCastle Technologies, Inc., a privately held, San Jose-based, manufacturer of network switching equipment for Fibre Channel and Ethernet networks, announced the appointment of Dave Davenport as president and chief executive officer.

Davenport has 20 years of experience in the storage industry and most recently served as vice president of worldwide operation for the Storage Products Division of Hitachi, ltd., in Odawara, Japan. Prior to that, he was the vice president of Enterprise Architecture and Technology Research for Hitachi Data Systems.

With Davenport joining the SanCastle executive team, Jacob Herbst, co-founder and former CEO, will assume the role of chairman of SanCastle's board of directors.
