MTI appoints new chief operating officer

Storage systems and services provider, MTI Technology Corp., has appointed Paul W. Emery II as its new chief operating officer (COO). Emery will be pulling double duty, at least for the time being, serving as both COO and chief financial officer (CFO). MTI said that former CFO Dale Boyd, has "left the company to pursue other interests."

Emery's focus as COO for MTI will be to assist Tom Raimondi, president and CEO, in every aspect of running the company, said a company spokesperson.

Before joining the Anaheim, Calif.-based MTI, Emery served most recently as the CFO and vice president, finance administration and field operations for Digital Generation Systems (DG), a San Franciso, Calif.-based provider of digital distribution services. Prior to his position at DG, Emery has held numerous executive posts at companies including IBM and Ford Motor Co.
