Texas insurance company deploys cloud SAN
National Lloyds & American Summit Insurance, a Waco, Texas-based insurance company, has chosen TwinStrata CloudArray as an extension to the cloud storage for its disaster recovery (DR) and backup needs. National Lloyds is able to deploy a cloud storage-area network (SAN) by combining cloud storage with existing SAN infrastructure for increased storage capacity and “like-local” access to cloud data.
The insurance firm had been using a SAN to store and protect its department and employee folders, along with images used by its policy and claims administrators. After it needed to replace its SAN three times within five years -- while also spending more than $3,000 a month to perform DR backups -- National Lloyds began the search for another option. Since deploying its CloudArray-powered cloud SAN, National Lloyds has moved its images and department and employee folders to the cloud, resulting in an immediate savings of $2,600 a month in DR costs.
