Cloud storage gateway vendor Panzura expanded its cloud ecosystem this week by adding support for Scality, AmpliStor and OpenStack object-based storage systems.
Panzura supports the Scality RING Organic Storage infrastructure for managing data security, snapshot-based restore points, access control and performance across the network. Organizations can also now use AmpliStor’s Optimized Object Storage system as a target for Panzura’s cloud solution. Panzura supports OpenStack Object Storage (Swift) deployed by HP Cloud Services and other cloud storage providers, and has joined the OpenStack community.
Atlantis Computing ILIO supports Hyper-V
Atlantis Computing Inc. rolled outs ILIO for Hyper-V, which runs as a virtual appliance on the Microsoft Hyper-V hypervisor for deployment with Citrix XenDesktop. The solution can be deployed on any server with any storage

Emulex expands Ethernet and Fibre Channel portfolio
Emulex Corp. launched new I/O connectivity solutions, combining its OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapter (UCNA) with its LightPulse Fibre Channel (FC) host bus adapter (HBA) architectures, to create the new HP PCIe Dual-Port 8Gb Fibre Channel Dual-Port 1/10Gb Adapter. The new adapter delivers two ports of 8 Gbps FC and two ports of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in one adapter. It features Emulex vEngine technology with full support for TCP/IP and FC, as well as backward compatibility with 4 Gbps FC and GbE environments.
Hitachi GST ships new enterprise drive family
Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (GST) is shipping its Ultrastar C10K900 enterprise drive family. The new Ultrastar family of SAS 6Gbps SAS drives is available in 900 GB, 600 GB, 450 GB and 300 GB capacities.
Earth Rangers selects Nexsan storage system
Nexsan Corp. said its E60 storage system has been selected by Earth Rangers, a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to biodiversity loss awareness. The Earth Rangers chose the Nexsan storage system for its ability to deliver high energy savings without sacrificing performance. The E60 can scale up to 180 TB in 4U of rack space and features Auto MAID Level 4 technology.
Israel telecomm provider protects SMB data with CTERA solution
CTERA Networks said Bezeq, Israel’s largest telecommunications provider, is using CTERA Cloud Attached Storage appliances for the Bezeq Remote Backup for Business service. The service is aimed at small- and medium-sized (SMBs), and is a hybrid cloud-based solution for managed storage and data protection.
MTP adds KineticD product services
MTP has added KineticD data protection services to its line of premier offerings. MTP will leverage KineticD’s backup and disaster recovery service platform to power its new My Total Protection brand for SMBs.
State of Indiana implements EMC Symmetrix VMAX with FAST VP
EMC Corp. said the State of Indiana’s Office of Technology has consolidated its information infrastructure on EMC Symmetric VMAX with Fully Automated Storage Tiering for Virtual Pools (FAST VP). The government agency has a VMAX with FAST VP in its main data center to support mission-critical applications, and a second VMAX at a disaster recovery site. It replicates data between the sites with EMC’s SRDF, TimeFinder, RecoverPoint, HomeBase and Replication Manager software.
Front-safe integrates Fusion-io for its cloud solution
Fusion-io said that backup and archiving solutions provider Front-safe has integrated Fusion-io’s ioMemory-based IBM High IOPS Adapters into its Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) cloud solution. Front-safe’s web interface integrates with TSM to create a cloud service that automates backup and recovery.
SolidFire adds exec, adviser
SolidFire, which sells all-solid-state storage systems for cloud service providers, hired EMC veteran Dave Cahill as director of strategic alliances and added NEA general partner Ron Bernal to its board of advisors.
