EMC upgrades Kazeon litigation support software, more storage news

EMC Corp launched EMC SourceOne eDiscovery – Kazeon 4.6 litigation support software to help storage and legal teams deal with document search

The latest version of the Kazeon software integrates with EMC SourceOne Email Archive, Avamar backup and Documentum document management applications, as well as Symantec Enterprise Vault 9, Microsoft SharePoint Server and Exchange 2010 with CAS, and IBM Lotus Domino Server.

Fujitsu adds high-end Eternus

Fujitsu launched the Eternus DX8700 S2 modular storage system for the high end. The DX8700 S2 starts at two controllers and four drive enclosures, and scales to eight controllers and 3,072 disk drives. Fujitsu said the systems will be available worldwide in February 2012.

Emulex introduces OneCommand Vision 2.0

Emulex Corp. rolled out its OneCommand Vision 2.0 application that provides I/O management within data center and cloud environments. OneCommand Vision monitors and analyzes end-to-end I/O latency of the data storage infrastructure. The new version includes customer alerts for I/O management and support for Microsoft Hyper-V, Oracle Enterprise Linux, Solaris 10, and VMware ESX 4.1 and 5.0.

C2C rolls out latest ArchiveOne

C2C Systems upgraded its ArchiveOne email archiving, e-discovery and compliance management application, adding the ability to automatically determine the owner of lost PST files, continuous system health checks and simplified management of disaster recovery to the cloud.

Acronis upgrades recovery software

Acronis Inc. launched Snap Deploy 4, an upgrade to its automated software for deploying and restoring PCs, servers and virtual machines. The new version copies exact images of data and systems, including the operating system, applications and files, and moves the images from one device to another.

Hitachi bundles stack for SAP HANA platform

Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) rolled out a storage and server bundle for the SAP HANA platform. The Hitachi Converged Platform for SAP HANA combines Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage (AMS) 2000 midrange-class storage and Hitachi Compute Blade 2000 with SAP in-memory computing technology for high-speed analytic capabilities.

Coraid raises $50 million

Ethernet SAN vendor Coraid Inc. raised $50 million in funding to expand global operations. Crosslink Capital led the round with participation from VCs Menlo Ventures, Allegis Capital, Azure Capital Partners, Silver Lake and Kenetic Ventures, and strategic investor Seagate Technology. Coraid also said it has more than 1,500 customers.

SolidFire raises $25 million to bring SSDs to the cloud

SolidFire, which sells all-flash storage arrays to cloud storage providers, has raised $25 million in its second funding round. The startup has raised $37 million over two rounds, and said it will use its funding to expand sales and marketing. New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Valhalla Partners and Novak Biddle participated in the funding, along with individual investments from former Sun CTO Greg Papadopoulos and former Data Domain executives Frank Slootman and David Schneider.

BridgeHead appoints new CEO

BridgeHead Software Ltd. hired Jim Beagle as its new CEO, replacing founder Tony Cotterill. Cotterill will remain at the healthcare data management software company as executive vice president and chief products officer.

California junior college selects EMC VNXe unified storage system

San Joaquin Valley College in California picked EMC Corp.'s VNXe unified storage system to replace its direct-attached storage. EMC said the college, with more than 7,000 students, faculty and staff, selected its storage over systems from NetApp and Dell Compellent.

Fujitsu to resell FalconStor NSS

FalconStor Software Inc. has entered a worldwide reseller agreement with Fujitsu Limited to combine its software with Fujitsu storage systems. Fujitsu will resell the FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) storage virtualization and management software with its Eternus DX disk storage systems to help manage multivendor storage implementations.

Mezeo Software and Scality integrate cloud software

Mezeo Software Corp. and object storage vendor Scality said Mezeo’s cloud storage software and Scality’s Ring Organic Storage application are compatible. Scality joined Mezeo’s Ready Technology Partner program, and Mezeo became part of Scality’s global partner network.
