Synology launches DiskStation DS210+ NAS server for SMBs

Synology Corp. launched the DiskStation DS210+, a network-attached storage (NAS) server designed for SMBs to share and back up data. The DiskStation DS210+ was designed for users who have high-performance file sharing. The DiskStation DS210+ allow SMBs to have on-site storage as well as maintain a connection to their data at the headquarter data center, eliminating the need for several devices and PC servers on the network. Other features of the DS210+ NAS server include share-level encryption, backup to the cloud with Amazon S3 and remote data backup.

Symantec launches new cloud-based service for SMBs

Symantec Corp. announced the launch of a new cloud backup service for SMBs, Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection. This cloud-based service was designed for users who want full security for all of their computer systems, but do not wish to purchase additional hardware or management software. According to Symantec, the main features of Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection include antivirus and antispyware systems, automatic updates, a Web-based management console and it's quick to deploy.

Symantec Hosted Endpoint Protection is available now. It can be purchased on its own or in a package with another Symantec Hosted Service.

Storage Guardian completes SAS 70 for service providers

Storage Guardian, a company that focuses on online and cloud backup for SMBs, announced that they have completed the Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 for service providers, and in turn have received a service auditor's Type II report. The SAS 70 Type II report was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and confirms that a company's procedures and policies are appropriate, the proper controls are in place, and processes perform as they were designed to.

Enhance Technology releases new RAID series

Enhance Technology announced the release of their new EnhanceRAID E400 FR desktop storage series. The EnhanceRAID series was designed for database archiving, file sharing, audio and non-linear editing, image editing and security surveillance on desktops. Some of its features include a 4-bay enclosure, 2 TB SATA II hard disks, RAID 5 and automatic system rebuilding capabilities, hot-swappable components and is PC and Mac OS compatible. The EnhanceRAID series is available now.

Rebit launches NAS backup product with fully automated software

Rebit Inc. announced the launch of NetSmart, a fully automatic backup product that supports NAS. NetSmart was designed specifically for SMBs and small office, home office (SOHO) users. It continuously backs up data from laptops and PCs to NAS. NetSmart is also based on Rebit's SaveMe software, which performs data backup and recovery as well as offering additional data storage space for personal files.
