According to Bocada, IBM currently uses Bocada Enterprise to manage thousands of backup clients for customers. The product is designed to help backup and recovery rates, and enhance service-level agreement (SLA) compliance.

CommVault certifies KOM Networks data archive appliance

KOM Networks has certified its KOMpliance data archiving appliance with CommVault Simpana software. KOMpliance is sold as a file server with storage or as a gateway to a storage-area network (SAN), and is used to manage data and retention policies. KOM Networks claims customers can use Simpana's data deduplication capability to eliminate redundant data stored on the KOM system.

Index Engines validates Celerra data at 1 TB/hour

Index Engines Inc. said it has validated its 3.0 indexing platform at sustained rates of more than 1 TB per hour per node on EMC Corp.'s Celerra network-attached storage (NAS) system. Index Engines, part of EMC's ISV program, performs full content and metadata indexing of backup data on Celerra. The performance rate of 1 TB/hr was achieved through one Index Engines node connected to Celerra via a direct connection of bounded GigE connections receiving six simultaneous NDMP data streams. The system indexed Exchange and file systems data.

Microsoft turns to Clearwell for e-discovery

Clearwell Systems Inc. said Microsoft Corp.'s legal and IT teams are using the Clearwell E-Discovery Platform as part of their in-house compliance strategy. The E-Discovery Platform helps Microsoft with early case assessment and searches for relevant documents.

Iron Mountain adds Windows 7 support

Iron Mountain Inc. updated its Connected Backup for PC service, adding support for litigation discovery and Microsoft Windows 7. Connected 8.4 will be available in March.
