This week's storage news briefs:
3PAR Inc. added software added data protection features to its InServ Storage Server platform. The new features are Synchronous Long Distance Remote Copy, persistent cache and RAID MP (Multi-Parity).
Synchronous Long Distance Remote Copy adds synchronous replication support to multiple sites for disaster recovery. Persistent Cache works on InServ systems of four or more nodes and preserves write-caching if a controller node fails by re-mirroring cache to other nodes in the cluster. RAID MP is RAID 6 technology that protects against data loss due to two simultaneous disk failures.
