Mellanox launches 40 Gig InfiniBand switchesMellanox Technologies Ltd. has made its latest IS5000 40 Gbps InfiniBand switches and FabricIT management suite generally available. The IS5000 modular director switch scales from 108 to 648 ports, and the new IS5030 fixed switch is a 1U 36-port device. FabricIT is used to manage all of Mellanox's modular switches. Mellanox also said Hewlett-Packard Co., will offer its 40 Gbps InfiniBand adapters and switches as part of the HP Extreme Scale-Out (ExSO) portfolio.
