AmeriVault, EMC launch online data backup service
AmeriVault and EMC Corp are releasing an online data backup product dubbed AmeriVault-EZ, which
represents one of three online backup segments provided by AmeriVault. The service is based on
EMC's Mozy online backup for businesses and consumers, and provides automated backup and offsite
protection for data to be resided on Microsoft Windows-based desktops, laptops and file
servers.

Tape library offers dual-port FC drives
Spectra Logic has released the Spectra T50e tape library. The 80 TB, 4U library features LTO-4
encryption, as well as the features of Spectra's BlueScale environment. Moreover the T50e features
dual port Fibre Channel drives, a scale of 10 to 50 slots within the same unit using Spectra's
Capacity-on-Demand, and media lifecycle management which notifies of faulty tape media and records
30 system data points on each tape.
HyperIP upgrade software supports multi-site configurations
NetEx has upgraded its business continuity and disaster recovery software, HyperIP, with version
5.5. HyperIP speeds up TCP applications over WANs for data replication and recovery. The upgrade
features support for multi-site configurations, and supports more than 8,000 application TCP
connections.
Rorke Data's Galaxy line supports Seagate's Barracuda, RAID
Rorke Data Inc.'s Galaxy 3G product line is now generally available. The product uses
serial-attached SCSI (SAS) and serial-advanced technology attachment (SATA) components as well as
the Seagate Barracuda 1 TB ES.2 series of hard drives. It also supports Fibre Channel, SAS, iSCSI
and SCSI host interfaces, supports all RAID configurations, and features individual capacities of
80 TB.
