Xiotech Corp. announced a growing number of national companies and government entities have selected the company's Magnitude 3D(R) 3000 storage area network (SAN) solutions in 2006. Customers, including Larson, Allen, Weishair & Co.; Banta Direct Marketing Group; the city of Albert Lea; the city of St. Cloud; Masco; Ventura County Office of Education; Continuum Health Partners; and the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy chose the Magnitude 3D 3000 system in order to better manage their data storage.
London hospital deploys BridgeHead archiving
The Royal Hospital Chelsea, London, has acquired and deployed a data archiving and backup product built around BridgeHead Software's HT integrated storage management platform. This project was an important step for the Royal Hospital, which is subject to complex data protection and compliancy pressures of multiple agencies as it is associated with the British military, is a healthcare facility and is also a national historical treasure.

Riverbed Technology Inc. announced that Warburg Pincus LLC and Greenhill & Co. have purchased and deployed Riverbed's Steelhead wide-area data services appliances to enable global collaboration and IT consolidation in its fast-paced, email- and document-intensive work environments.
Copan gets a patent
Copan Systems, makers
of enterprise-class MAID storage systems, announced that it has been awarded a patent for the most critical components in its MAID storage systems. Patent number 7,035,972 was issued by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and relates to Copan's approach to providing scalable, reliable, power-efficient, high-capacity data storage for long-term and persistent data, the company said.
