Riverbed announces 24/7 tech support
Riverbed Technology Inc. announced that with the opening of an Amsterdam, Netherlands, technical support center, it is now able to provide technical support regardless of time of day or location for customers of its Steelhead appliances. Riverbed also announced new or expanded offices in the Netherlands, Italy, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland. The company currently has support centers in San Francisco, New York, Singapore and Tokyo.

Plasmon reports healthcare customers
Plasmon PLC announced that more than 50 medical organizations are using Plasmon (ultra density Optical (UDO) archiving technology for long-term image and data retention. In the fourth quarter of 2005, three medical organizations -- Cabell Huntington Hospital, Lourdes Medical Pavilion and Newport Imaging -- deployed the new Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance.

Plasmon collaborates with Personal Access Communications Systems (PACS), and health information services partners and integrators, such as GE Healthcare and Agfa to offer archiving for PACS systems. Both Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance and the UDO libraries can be integrated into the GE Centricity PACS System or Agfa's Impax Archive Management System.

O&O brushes up Windows file recovery
O&O Software announced Version 4 of its UnErase Windows data recovery product. The product finds out where deleted files are and restores them with the push of a button. Their original file names and directory structure are also completely restored. The new version includes new search algorithms, which will allow users to apply specific parameters for a faster and more precise search.

BakBone appoints CFO
BakBone Software Inc. announced that Douglas Lindroth has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. Most recently, Lindroth was senior vice president and CFO for Memec Group Holdings Ltd., a semiconductor distributor, for nine years.
