Philly stock exchange reports big savings with Brocade The Philadelphia Stock Exchange said it cut its data storage expenses by 75% over previous DAS systems when it deployed a SAN from Brocade. The Brocade SAN enables the 400-employee Exchange to more effectively archive records of trades and issues that must be stored for seven years by Securities and Exchange Commission rules.
Apptix launches e-mail compliance service Apptix launched a new archiving and monitoring service to provide small and midsized businesses with compliance management for e-mail. LeftHand was the first iSCSI vendor to complete the tests required for program participation.
DataCore does DR DataCore Software announced a new line of remote site disaster recovery (DR) and storage pool mirroring products. The products include software to manage two separately located SANmelody disk servers, each capable of supporting terabyte storage pools, plus a choice of DR software -- either asynchronous LAN/WAN based replication software, or synchronous LAN or SAN failover mirroring software.

Seismic data firm deploys Panasas cluster Panasas Inc. announced that Geophysical Development Corporation (GDC), a seismic data processing and exploration firm, has deployed the Panasas ActiveScale storage cluster. The Panasas Linux cluster product boosted performance by 10x, GDC said.
