Crosswalk introduces NAS bundle Crosswalk announced the Crosswalk Storage Manager NAS Bundle, a prepackaged configuration of its entire Crosswalk Storage Manager software line that offers customized monitoring and reporting of multiple distributed NAS systems. Features of the bundle include storage and data classification, trending and forecasting; storage resource management; reporting and monitoring of multiple systems; and performance analysis and diagnostics. The product is available immediately and starts at around $9,000.
Netex encrypts data over WAN Network Executive Software Inc. (NetEx) announced HyperShield, a replication system that moves and encrypts data over the WAN at up to OC12 speeds. The encryption capability came from a partnership with CipherOptics Inc.; NetEx's HyperIP and CipherOptics' line of data protection gateways are both based on native Gigabit Ethernet and IP.

CDP FilesX announced it is adding a continuous data protection (CDP) feature to its Xpress Restore software. The new feature includes the ability to recover an entire volume, individual files, application data like Exchange e-mails and SQL tables and bare-metal restore from a single backup. Applications can be restarted immediately based on a backup in the FilesX repository.
