Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. announced Version 3.0 of SAN Health, a tool used for analyzing and optimizing SANs that is available to Brocade partners and SAN users at no charge. Upgrades in the new release include more customizable report options, a simplified graphical user interface; support for Secure Shell communications between SAN locations and support for Brocade Secure Fabric OS. The upgraded software will also analyze McData SANs as well as Brocade fabrics.
TimeSpring offers free CDP testing software
TimeSpring Software Corp. announced the availability of a free version of its TimeData continuous data protection (CDP) software that will allow customers previewing SQL Server 2005 to test and migrate data from SQL Server 2000. Qualifying organizations must be located in North America. They must be evaluating Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 before the end of November 2005, and they must have a compatible IT environment. Optica adds FICON/ESCON converter
Optica Technologies Inc. announced the general availability of its Prizm FICON to ESCON converter, the fourth in a series of protocol conversion products for the IBM mainframe market. Prizm is a server-based channel appliance that provides connectivity for a customer's legacy ESCON devices to a switched, nonswitched or ISL-extended native FICON infrastructure.
Winchester Systems announces FlashDisk SATA
Winchester Systems Inc. introduced 400 GB hard drives in its entire line of SATA disk arrays. Winchester Systems has incorporated Western Digital Corp.'s Caviar RE2 drives into its FlashDisk SATA disk arrays with 12, 16 or 24 drives to provide capacities of 4.8 terabytes (TB), 6.4 TB or 9.6 TB.
Dot Hill certified by FalconStor
